10 Steps – How to Make a Header Using Picasa

1.  Go to picasa and click to download picasa to your computer.  There’s both a PC version and a Mac version.
2-  Picasa will find every single photo already stored on your computer.  It leaves the photos in the files where you have them stored, and puts copies of them in picasa.
3- Open picasa.  You’ll see the photo copies being added in the lower right corner and popping up on your screen.  You may need to close and re-open picasa if you don’t see this happening at once.
4-  The concept – you are going to make a type of collage first and then add text.
5-Click on the first photo you want to use.  It will appear in the lower left corner of the screen.  You’ll see a green icon of a push pin near the bottom of the screen.  Click that to save the photo you chose in the “tray” there at the bottom.
You might want to use multiple photos or just one photo with text added.
6- Select the next photo and do the same.
7- When you have all the photos you want then click Create, Collage.
8- A collage will pop up that you can edit.  Under Collage, Settings, Format you can set the exact size of the header that you want to make.
There is a drop down box with automatic settings but you can click on Custom to set acustom size. You’ll see options on the left to make it a grid, use other layouts, or put a color or photo as a background.  You can resize the photos, drag them around, and put photos on top of other photos in your layout.
9- Click to Create  Collage when you’re done editing and save it.  If you want add text to it use the photo editing effects and tools.
You can also create a collage in picasa, then go through the above steps to make a collage out of a group of other collages.
10- Go to your dashboard. Click on the icon for Appearance in the lower left of the screen and choose Header.
Browse and upload the collage.  A window will open with a box outlined with a dotted line that is the size of a wordpress header.  If your size in the picasa software was correct your header will match the dotted line box.  If it was a little off you click inside the dotted lines.  Then slide the box up and down the collage to select the horizontal strip of area in the collage that you want to use in the header.
